Privacy policy
The short version
- This website sets no cookies and runs no tracking or ads.
- We never sell, rent or share phone numbers for anyone's marketing.
- When CatchSwift texts someone for a shop, it is only about the call they made. Reply STOP and the texts stop.
- Email matte@catchswift.com to see or delete what we hold about you.
Who we are
CatchSwift is a missed-call text-back service for HVAC companies in the United States, run by Matte. "We" and "us" in this policy mean CatchSwift. You can reach us at matte@catchswift.com.
This policy covers three groups of people: visitors to this website, HVAC shops that ask about or use CatchSwift, and people who call a shop that uses CatchSwift.
Visitors to this website
- No cookies, no tracking. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, ad pixels or tracking tools.
- The demo remembers your shop name on your own device. If you type a shop name into the demo, your browser saves it so the demo can show it next time. It never leaves your device and we never see it. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
- The claim form does not send anything to us. Pressing the button opens your own email app with a message already written. Nothing is stored on this site. We only receive what you choose to send.
- Files from other services. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Its fonts come from Google Fonts and two code libraries come from cdnjs (run by Cloudflare) and jsDelivr. To deliver those files, these services receive your IP address and basic browser details, as with any website, and may keep standard server logs under their own privacy policies.
- Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors across sites, a "Do Not Track" signal from your browser does not change anything here.
HVAC shops that contact us or use CatchSwift
When you email us about a founding spot, we receive what is in your email: usually your name, your shop's name, your cell number, your email address, and the two numbers from the calculator on this site (your average ticket and the calls you miss per week). We use them only to reply to you and to talk about setting up CatchSwift.
If you become a client, we also keep what we need to run the service for you: your business name and hours, the business and staff phone numbers that receive alerts, the text messages your shop sends, and billing records.
People who call a shop that uses CatchSwift
When you call an HVAC shop that uses CatchSwift, we process the following on that shop's behalf:
- your phone number, the time of the call, and whether it was answered;
- your voicemail, if you leave one (stored with our phone provider, SignalWire);
- the text messages between you and the shop;
- whether you replied STOP, so we never text you again unless you reply START.
We use this only to text you back about your call, to pass your message to the shop, to flag urgent requests to the shop, to stop repeat texts, and to give the shop a weekly count of missed calls. We do not use it to market anything to you, and we do not sell it.
The shop you called decides how to follow up with you. For questions about your request itself, contact the shop.
Text messages and your mobile number
We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers, or text-message opt-in data and consent, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers are shared only with the providers that deliver the calls and texts (our phone provider SignalWire and the mobile carriers), and only so the messages can be delivered.
Reply STOP to any CatchSwift text to stop texts from that shop, START to allow them again, and HELP for help. The full text terms are in our terms.
Who helps us run CatchSwift
We use a small number of service providers. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job for us:
- SignalWire: phone calls, voicemail and text messages.
- DigitalOcean: the server that runs CatchSwift, in New York, USA.
- Cloudflare: this website and our domain.
- Zoho: our email.
- Tools that watch the system and alert us when something breaks.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
- Emails asking about a spot: while we are talking with you, and deleted when you ask.
- Call and text records for a shop: while the shop uses CatchSwift, so it can see its history and reports. When a shop stops using CatchSwift, we delete its callers' records within 90 days. We keep only a list of numbers that replied STOP, so they are never texted again.
- Backups: daily database backups stay on the server for up to 14 days. One monthly copy, kept offline to test that restores work, is replaced each month. Deleted records leave the backups as they roll over.
Your choices and rights
- Reply STOP to any CatchSwift text to stop texts from that shop.
- Email matte@catchswift.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm the request comes from you, for example by a text to the number in question.
- California residents: we do not sell or share your personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines those words, and we do not use it for cross-site advertising. You can ask us what we collect and ask us to delete it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Security
The service runs over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Every request from our phone provider is checked for a valid signature before we act on it, and the app can only reach the database through a short list of fixed functions. No system is perfectly secure, and if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
CatchSwift is a service for businesses. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Where the data is stored
Our server and providers store the data in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects shops already using CatchSwift, we will email them first.
